Senior Business Analyst – Odoo ERP Implementation & Integration

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst – Odoo ERP Implementation & Integration who will be responsible for leading end-to-end Odoo ERP implementations across multiple business functions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Odoo Community and Enterprise editions, expertise in ERP configuration and customisation, and the ability to independently manage client requirements, stakeholder communication, and functional delivery.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead end-to-end Odoo ERP implementations across modules including Finance & Accounts, HR & Payroll, Procurement, Inventory, Asset Management, Maintenance, Fleet, and Expenses.
  • Conduct requirement-gathering workshops and stakeholder discussions to understand business needs and define functional specifications.
  • Configure Odoo Community and Enterprise modules based on client-specific business processes while minimising custom development wherever possible.
  • Set up and manage India-specific localisation requirements including GST, TDS, PF, ESI, NPS, and asset depreciation.
  • Define and manage multi-company, multi-branch, analytic accounting structures, workflows, and role-based access permissions.
  • Identify gaps between standard Odoo functionality and business requirements; recommend suitable solutions through configuration, customisation, or third-party plugins.
  • Prepare detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), fit-gap analysis documents, and configuration guides.
  • Collaborate with technical teams for custom module development, workflow enhancements, report customisation, and business logic validation.
  • Review and validate custom developments and configurations before User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Evaluate and recommend third-party plugins from the Odoo App Store and OCA repositories based on compatibility, scalability, and project requirements.
  • Manage plugin installation, testing, version control, and coordination with vendors or OCA maintainers for support and upgrades.
  • Assess feature availability between Odoo Community and Enterprise editions and advise stakeholders on the best-fit solution.
  • Maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to track business requirements, configurations, customisations, and plugins throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, implementation consultants, developers, and third-party integration partners to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Conduct regular project reviews, monitor risks, manage scope changes, and ensure milestone adherence.
  • Lead UAT planning, test case preparation, execution support, and stakeholder sign-off activities.
  • Support go-live readiness, deployment activities, hypercare, and post-go-live stabilisation.
  • Provide functional guidance, troubleshooting support, and practical solutions for client queries during and after implementation.
  • Ensure all project deliverables and documentation are maintained as per defined standards and timelines.

Education & Experience:  

  • 5–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 3 years specifically in Odoo ERP implementations.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Odoo modules including Accounting, Purchase, Inventory, HR, Payroll, Maintenance, Fleet, and Expenses.
  • Hands-on experience with both Odoo Community and Enterprise editions.
  • Experience in Odoo customisation including workflows, views, reports, and business logic coordination with development teams.
  • Strong understanding of India localisation in Odoo including GST, TDS, PF, ESI, NPS, and depreciation methods.
  • Experience in plugin evaluation, implementation, and management from Odoo App Store and OCA repositories.
  • Ability to independently manage implementation workstreams with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exposure to Odoo Studio, Python/XML, and integration scenarios is an added advantage.
  • Experience in higher education, institutional ERP, or public sector implementations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with academic management systems and ERP integrations is desirable.

  • Strong documentation skills including BRDs, FSDs, fit-gap analysis, and RTM preparation.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Good understanding of ERP customisation, workflows, and integration concepts.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and client-handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage implementation workstreams with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project coordination and delivery management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Odoo Community and Enterprise architecture and localisation requirements.
  • Ability to evaluate plugins, assess business impact, and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, project documentation tools, and reporting practices.
  • Willingness to travel based on project requirements.
