About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Developer to manage and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with MySQL, database performance tuning, and routine database administration tasks. You will work closely with development and DevOps teams to ensure database reliability, performance, and security.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain MySQL database systems to ensure performance, availability, and security.
- Design and maintain database schemas, tables, and relationships.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Perform routine database administration tasks such as backup, recovery, monitoring, and patching.
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Assist in query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Support database replication setups (master-slave, GTID) and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams for smooth database integration and deployments.
- Assist in data migration, data validation, and deployment activities.
- Maintain proper documentation of database structures and processes.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or MySQL Developer.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of MySQL database administration and SQL querying.
- Basic understanding of database design, normalization, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with backup/recovery and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with MySQL replication and high availability concepts.
- Understanding of indexing strategies and query execution plans.
- Knowledge of MySQL storage engines such as InnoDB.
- Exposure to version control tools like Git/SVN is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of other databases like PostgreSQL or MongoDB is an advantage.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
